Paperbacks
can be bound in two ways:
STANDARD BUCKRAM LIBRARY BINDING
KATER-BOUND: The original paperback cover is color photocopied, laminated with
Mylar and this is used with binders board to make a hardbound book. The pages
are double fan adhesive bound or side sewn.
For KATER-BINDS the covers must be in good
condition. If a cover is damaged, too stiff or cannot be removed from the
book without damage, the book will have to be returned or Library bound per the
customers request. These
are inexpensive binding processes designed for mass market paperbacks and we can
only assume a maximum replacement value of $50.00 per book. For either process, the pages must be in good condition
with no dog ears or tears. You may put a label with call numbers or a barcode on the
spine or front cover of a paperback to be KATER-BOUND and it will be
protected by the Mylar lamination.
